"Incredibly thoughtful, thank you, Hermione. I would put them in the pantry or on the table but I... haven't either of those things," he said, glancing into the empty house, the fingers of one hand rubbing in a brief, self-conscious gesture across his lips.
"Nor any place to offer you to sit, save, ah," he gestured to the stoop.
